Real-Time Order
Status System (R-TOSS) |
|
·
Terra's production management system begins when
your order is entered and assigned a single TUI Reference Number to
the entire set of products and services in your project. ·
After you have approved drawings for custom
items and after your advance payments have been received, your order is
released to Production Control. ·
Production Control analyses the work to be performed
in Engineering and all production shops and establishes an Estimated Ship
Date (ESD). The ESD is entered in your order and an order confirmation
e-mailed to you to describe exactly what Terra is committed to product, when
under what Terms and Conditions. ·
You are asked to review your order confirmation
carefully since any changes to the Terms and Conditions, product descriptions,
dates, etc., must be negotiated immediately to avoid delay and cost. ·
Production Control analyses tasks in each shop
necessary to build each of your products, and the number of work days
estimated to complete each task. This sets a production schedule for
each shop for each product. ·
Production Control issues Work Orders for each
shop for each product including the task list and a PLAN completion date for
each task. ·
During production, each shop scans tags documenting
the start and stop of each task on each work order. ·
Each day, Terra's production control system accumulates
the day’s scanned tasks and calculates a PROJECTED Completion Date for
each work order for each product based on actual tasks completed plus planned
days on tasks open. ·
Daily, around 2:00 AM Pacific Time, Terra's production
control system uploads the latest actual data and projected schedules to the
R-TOSS for all orders that have been open in the last 60 days. ·
For each base product manufactured by Terra,
R-TOSS displays: Product # – The product number on your order.
(Parts installed in a base product, such as shelves on a table are not
separately listed.) Item – The item description Qty – The quantity on order Done – Y indicates that manufacturing has
completed this item. Plan – The number of work days planned to
build the product. Work days do not include weekends. Proj – The currently projected work days
required to complete the product. Done – The number of work days on tasks that
have been completed (green). Open – The number of work days on tasks that
have not been completed (yellow). BLUE bar – If the number of Projected work
days is less than the number of Planned work days, the difference is in blue. RED bar – If the number of Projected work days
is more than the number of Planned work days, the additional days are in red. ·
Daily, around 2:00 AM Pacific Time, Terra's accounting
system uploads shipping data on all products shipped on the orders included
in R-TOSS. These are displayed in the Items Shipped section of the
R-TOSS report. ·
As delivery improvements or delays are
encountered, production Control and your Customer Service Associate work
together and re-plan work to minimize effect on your order. When
necessary, the Estimated Ship date (ESD) may be changed. Your Customer
Service Associate will inform you by e-mail if this is necessary. ·
Since nearly all Terra jobs are custom-built,
and many are first-time builds, they are subject to the uncertainties of
parts and materials availability, unanticipated work effort, human error and the
like. Therefore, ESDs are guidelines and are not guaranteed. ·
